About Us
DoNoHarmWashington.com is a website committed to providing a new perspective on critical issues in Washington State.
We are currently highlighting three environmental issues in addition to other general environmental articles. The three issues are all important in Washington State’s efforts to move to alternative fuels and address climate change impacts. These include (1) the Governor’s proposed cap and trade legislation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, (2) environmentalist proposals to reduce vehicle emissions by requiring local governments to reduce the miles driven by residents and move to higher density population concentrations, and (3) utility company proposals to end the inconsistencies and counterproductive penalties in state renewable energy laws.
In examining these issues we present our particular point of view, but you will also find links at the end of the three main issue briefs to websites with other points of view.
We concur with Washington State Democratic Majority Whip, Senator Chris Marr, who on March 25, after reminding fellow legislators that it is not “heresy” to question environmental laws, stated:
“There is no orthodoxy around the environment, or at least there shouldn’t be, because at the end we are all about the same things. So all I am going to suggest is that we can have that debate without suggesting that there is one right or wrong and without bowing to special interests on both sides of this debate…The stakes are too high to succumb to either of these temptations.”
