Comment By: Marlyce Childers. Posted on 4/21/2009 10:31:00 AM
Whether or not the debate IS over, what exactly is wrong with doing what we can to reduce carbon emissions? I gave up my car years ago. I maintain my drivers license and rent a car when I need one. This, by the way, costs me MUCH less than maintaining a car and constantly paying for gas, parking and insurance. I'm not sure how it breaks down but I might be in favor of a tax or limitations on miles driven. People who refuse to try mass transit or move to reduce their commute or buy a hybrid vehicle maybe need a push in that direction. I wish people would make a few sacrifices on their own. From discussions I've had with various groups of folks, it doesn't seem so.
